Why God?

So when things don’t line up, who do you go to?

Each of us are given ample opportunity to turn and run to someone. Things can change within a moment. At the drop of a dime, this world experiences turmoil. The question remains, where do we go when trouble or disaster strikes?

It isn’t like we are given one choice. We are given many. We are presented with many “options” of what we could run to in the middle of pain, despair, loneliness etc etc. There are movements based around things you can turn to. For example, the new age movement “just find your inner fire”. Or Buddha, “just meditate on nothing”. Or drugs and alcohol “if you numb your mind, you won’t feel anything.”

The problem with all of that is, it is a false picture of what you really need and each thing will inevitably let you down. Why? Because it’s a lie. The enemy pegs you stupid and tries to feed you anything he can to keep you away from God. He is more convinced of who you were created to be than you’ve even thought of. And who you are, makes him angry. You are not a nothingness being designed for “a whimsical fire within”. (shaking my head) You are much more than that! C’mon. You are so much more. And meditating on nothing…seriously? What a meaningless life. Drugs, alcohol, sex with random strangers—–such an easy way to kill all that you are.

You were created with a distinct purpose inside of you that you were always created to live out. Whether you choose to grow into the person you were created to be is ultimately up to you. It takes a real designer to create a living breathing human being. Did you know that it would take a scientist 10 billion years to just read your DNA? Yep, points to a living God. Did you know that your DNA cannot be replicated? Yep. points to a living God. You are not a mistake. You were born for relationship with God. It’s actually why he created you. He wants you to receive his love and be the person he created you to be. Could you imagine waking up when you’re 80 and realizing “I never met me”? Scary thought, right? So how do you meet you? Call on the one who made you.

Drop that crap the enemy has sold you and stop beating around the bush. Ask God to open up your eyes to the reality of who he is and stop walking around with that achy feeling in your soul that nothing else can fill. Only God will ever be able to fill that space. You’re wasting your precious life on all of these things that were designed by the enemy to distract you. Pick up a bible and read; asking God to reveal himself to you. Start seeking God and you will find him and discover your life. That life you’ve constantly been searching for. No amount of money, or schooling, or dating or anything will ever be enough because you were created for much more. You are not cheap. Stop selling yourself to every idea of what could be.
